Nature and Wildlife photography has always been a companion for me on my long walks and hikes into the outdoors. My connection to nature and wildlife is very personal and enriching to my life…it’s a privilege. I prefer to use a zoom lens allowing me to move about within my frame once I have my subject and established my POV without disturbing natures environment…I use color and depth of field along with a slow shutter speed to create movement and create a life to the background giving it a purpose in my composition, I call this technique “painting in the background”. It gives the image a painterly and dreamy appeal that I absolutly love.
Healing photography utilizes the act of taking and creating photographs as a form of therapy and self-expression, offering potential benefits for mental and emotional well-being. It can be a tool for stress reduction, emotional processing, and personal growth. When you walk the hallways of a hospital or sitting in a waiting room, the photography on the walls are assisting you in the healing process, the serine blue of the water the gentle breeze through the landscape or the loving gaze of wildlife, all elements of healing photography.
